“Free” softver, znanje i astronomija

Predavač će biti Milan Milošević. Predavanje će biti održano u četvrtak, 17. septembra, u amfitetatru Prirodno-matematičkog fakulteta, Višegradska 33 sa početkom u 20h. Ulaz je slobodan (i besplatan).

Međunarodni dan slobodnog softvera obeležava se svake godine sa ciljem promocije i popularizacije slobodnog softvera i sloboda koje taj softver sa sobom donosi. Suština slobodnog softvera nalazi se u četiri osnovne slobode: korišćenja, uvida u način funkcionisanja, distribucije i unapređenja. Većina ljudi nije svesna koliko je slobodan softver značajan i prisutan u našim životima. Slobodan softver često koristimo da toga nismo ni svesni. Gotovo je nemoguće zamisliti današnji Internet bez prisustva slobodnog softvera.

Kad se pomene slobodan softver većina ljudi pomisli na Linux, ali Linux je samo jedan slobodni operativni sistem, a slobodni softver je mnogo više od toga. Na predavanju će biti reči o tome šta je slobodan softver, razlici između slobodnog, besplatnog i vlasničkog softvera i o prednostima “free” programa u odnosu na vlasničke. Takođe, biće reči o značaju slobodnog softvera za korisnika, pojedinca i društvo. Posetioci predavanja biće upoznati sa osnovama Linuxa, ali i sa slobodnim programima koje mogu koristiti i na Windowsu ili nekom drugom komercijalnom operativom sistemimu. Poslednji deo predavanja odnosiće se na slobodu znanja, Wikipediju i slične sajtove, tj. na slobodne licence (npr. Creative Commons) koje omogućavaju lako i pristupačno prenošenje i korišćenje znanja, ali istovremeno omogućavaju i zaštitu prava autora i pisaca.

Nakon predavanja biće predstavljeni i neki od najpopularnijih edukativnih programa iz astronomije (KStars, Celestia, Stellarium) a neki od slušalaca dobiće male nagrade (originalne diskove sa instalacijom Ubuntu Linuxa).
