SFD09logoDanas je 19. septembar – dan slobodnog softvera. Ovaj dan se obeležava od 2004. godine, a od 2006. godine dogovoreno je da Dan slobodnog softvera bude svaka treća subota u septembru. U prošlogodišnjoj akciji učestvovalo je više od 500 timova iz 90 različitih zemalja. Interaktivnu mapu ovogdišnjih učesnika možete da pogledate na zvaničnom sajtu.

Dan slobodnog softvera bio je i povod za predavanje koje je organizovalo astronomsko društvo Alfa, iz Niša. Tema predavanja bio je značaj slobodnog softvera i primena u astronomiji. Predavanje je održano u velikoj sali Prirodno-matematičkog fakulteta a prisustvovalo je tridesetak ljudi. Na broj prisutnih verovatno je uticala jaka konkurencija na TV programu tog dana – dve utakmice, reprezentacija u košarci i Partizan u fudbalu. Ipak, “konkurencija” nije mnogo smetala.

Tema prvog dela predavanja bila je suština slobodnog softvera, kao i njegove mogućnosti, prednosti i značaj. Drugi deo predavanja bio je tematski vezan za rad AD Alfa. Slušaoci su imali prilike da čuju priču o nekim najznačajnim slobodnim programima (KStars, Stellarium, Celestia) iz astronomije i u demonstraciji vide kako oni rade. Na kraju predavanja podeljeno je desetak originalnih Ubuntu CD-a, koji su stigli u poklon paketu od centralnog organizatora ovog događaja.

Održano predavanje i Dan slobodnog softvera bilo je i povod za današnje gostovanje u emisiji Dobro jutro, na TV Zona. Emisija je prilika da se i na ovaj način da mali doprinos u popularizaciji slobodnog softvera i astronomije.
