Astronomsko društvo Alfa je u trajanju od 7. do 9. jula, 2003. godine, organizovalo trodnevni kurs astronomije pod radnim nazivom “Mala noćna astronomija”, na Prirodno-Matematičkom fakultetu u Nišu.

Tema prve večeri su bili teleskopi. Nakon održanog prvog predavanja, održan je i praktičan kurs rada sa refraktorom i obavljeno je posmatranje Meseca. Predavač prve večeri bio je Miodrag Sekulić. Druge večeri, teme su bile Sunce i planete Sunčevog sistema, a njih su nam obrazložili profesor Dragan Gajić i Milan Milošević. Poslednjeg dana, Ana Mančić nam je predavala o malim telima Sunčevog sistema, a Nikola Naumović nas je upoznao sa najnovijim vestima i dostignućima u oblasti astronomije i istraživanja kosmosa.

Sva predavanja su održana na vrlo visokom nivou i sa upotrebom računara i video-bima u glavnom amfiteatru niškog PMF-a, uz pomoć grupe za fiziku. Predavanjima je u proseku prisustvovalo oko šezdesetak slušalaca. Tom prilikom, deljeni su propagandni leci društva, obavljeno je grupno slikanje učesnika, a kao posebnu zanimljivost vredi istaći i to da smo se potrudili da učesnicima damo kompakt diskove sa narezanim ranijim predavanjima po vrlo pristupačnoj ceni. Disk je inače multimedijalan i napravljen je tako da se može normalno pratiti svaka tema koja je do sada bila obrađivana na našim predavanjima.

 

Sledeća veća aktivnost društva koja se planira je, tzv. doček Marsa koji nam dolazi u goste krajem avgusta, za kada je planirano i javno posmatranje sa predavanjem.
